Wow, I got a lot more videos than usual uploaded this month! Another funny sim video, two Jump Birdy Jump Let's Plays and a showing of the gumball machine from The Sims 3 Store! Here we go!

My sims always seem to bring to light some funny art forms. This one being the art of synchronized panicking!
The gumball machine is the newest gameplay item to be featured in the store and I show it off. This is probably the last Sims video before I start uploading Pets-related footage.
"Um...guys? You can stop panicking now, the gas leak is taken care of."

That somehow happened when I used Twallan's mastercontroller to switch to one of her friends who was visiting at the time. The upright bass rendered itself again when I switched back. I don't think it's Twallan's fault though, it's probably my MacBook's integrated graphics card.
Unlike other glitches in The Sims, this one provided some laughs. As long as it doesn't happen all the time it'll be more amusing than annoying.

THIS GAME. It's going to be even better than SSX 3.
Haven't played Need For Speed in a long time. This game looks kind of interesting.
Finally some gameplay of Pets! The horse spinning around to take the saddle on and off looks a bit goofy but I guess that's the easiest way to do it. There's news about collection folders returning, finally! Decorating houses will be so much easier with all my store sets organized. You can also have lawn gnomes that hold up signs to keep strays off your property.
So Gamescom is on in Germany this week. Some awesome stuff, including cats, have been let out of the bag. Check out this AWESOME new trailer for The Sims 3 Pets!

The awesomeness doesn't end there. In less than an hour there will be new info released regarding online features for the new SSX coming out next year. However, EA decided to drop this bombshell:
Eddie is back. Eddie is finally back. OH MY GOD. Now that's some epic fanservice. This game has made a crazy turnaround from that gloomy Call of Duty-like trailer to having Eddie making a comeback. See? EA isn't all bad. Can't wait to see what else comes out of Gamescom.
A new patch came out to coincide with the release of The Sims 3 Town Life Stuff. It has a nice long list of fixes. Haven't downloaded it myself yet, I plan to install it when I get TLS (probably tomorrow).

What's this? A huge chunk (possibly all) of coding related to Pets was included with the patch as well? Eyup. A ton of stuff we didn't know about the expansion is contained in the file DeltaBuild0.package. A full list of the new stuff can be read here: http://simsvip.com/?page_id=2538
My favourite things to come out of this:
-Ice cream trucks and vending machines? Awesome!
-Unicorns are the new "creature." Didn't see that coming, but I think they have potential, especially with their magical abilities. Funny thing is, if I didn't start watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic I probably would have reacted badly to this (seriously, that show is actually really good).
-The variety of small pets is easily the best the series has seen so far. Hedgehogs?! HECK YEAH
-Looks like there's new singing interactions for sims?
-Country and RnB may be new radio stations.
-Sims have to actually ask permission to ride another sim's horse. It's the little things that make The Sims more believable.
Wait...so if unicorns are in this game, then that means we can create something similar to...

In terms of video games, this week has been fantastic for me. A few days ago The Sims 3 Generations was FINALLY announced. Talk about procrastination! I hope EA doesn't take so long to announce Unleashed EP5. It seems like they take longer to announce the summer EP than the winter one so probably not. Generations will resolve the issue of it only being fun to play as adults in the game. New playground equipment for kids, pranks for teens, mid life crises for adults, walking canes for elders, and a lot more. Sims will finally be able to use video cameras! YES!!
Then the day after Generations was announced, there was an announcement that something big was coming to Sonic's Facebook page. It ended up being a teaser trailer, and that picture happened. Rumours say the game may be called Sonic Generations. Well, isn't that a coincidence? Two games announced in the same week that may both be called Generations and they're from my two favourite video game series. What's next, the new SSX being renamed to Generations? Smash Bros. Generations? F-Zero Generations?
Wow, it's like this week was specifically made for me.
So it's pretty much out in the open now. The much anticipated fourth expansion pack for The Sims 3 will be named Generations. If you go to the text only version of the official Sims 3 website you'll find this at the bottom of the page:

This looks promising. One of the biggest complaints about The Sims 3 is that there's isn't much stuff for sims to do unless they're adults. Personally, I've only had a baby once in my game because it was just so boring to go through the baby-teen stages. It wasn't that great in The Sims 2 but it's even worse in 3. Kinda sad. Can't imagine a schoolyard without hopscotch, basketball hoops, or jump rope? Play The Sims 3 and you will then.
A world that's supposed to simulate real life but is always sunny and has no dogs or cats just doesn't make any sense. Please let pets or weather be in this one EA. :P
Wow, so one of my biggest annoyances with the new Late Night expansion is that there's no spawners for placing pigeons on the ground. They're in the new city Bridgeport, but they only seem to be in the central park which is not an actual lot you can modify. But I found a solution! Using the fog emitter included with Ambitions (not sure if it comes with Late Night too?) you can place pigeons wherever you want!
Here are the steps to follow to stage your own pigeon invasion! 1. Bring up the cheat box (shift,ctrl,c simultaneously) Type testingcheatsenabledtrue. 2. Type buydebug. A new section in buy mode should open up that's symbolized by a question mark (?) 3. Click on the ? and go to the misc section. The fog emitter is a blue sphere. Shouldn't have to scroll down very far to find it. 4. Place it anywhere you feel like. 5. Hold shift and left-click on the fog emitter. Click on "Set Visual Effect..." 6. Erase the default "ep2spiritfog" and replace it one of the following commands: ep3pigeonwalkingthree ep3pigeonstandingthree ep3pigeonwalkingfive ep3pigeonstandingfive 7. Hit enter (or click the checkmark, same difference)
Voila! You don't even need to wait for the pigeons appear, they pop up the instant you hit the enter key after typing in the command. I was quite annoyed to not see some kind of spawner object for pigeons, so I was stoked to come across something even better! I'll be making a short skit involving these pigeons, so keep your eyes peeled!
I feel so awesome for making this discovery. Maybe I should rename myself to the Iron Pigeon.
Wow, almost a month since my last post already? Time sure flies. Hopefully this week I can do a new vlog if even a short one. Even though I have two exams and one assignment due this week there's plenty of downtime in between. Yep, first semester in Aussieland is almost done. Except for the odd week when something is actually due, it's felt really laid back compared to college which really surprised me.
The end of exam week will come with a really awesome reward! The latest Sims 3 expansion, Late Night, is coming out and it looks twice as good as Ambitions! And that expansion was still pretty decent. I'll be sure to post some videos of Late Night on my YouTube channel and put up some pictures on a new blog I'm making for strictly sim stuff.
I'll also be posting a video or two of my sims in Egypt. My sim versions of Bridgette and Geoff from Total Drama went to Egypt and while exploring one of the pyramids Bridgette was attacked and cursed by a mummy. If a sim gets the mummy's curse and you don't cure them within two sim weeks they will die. There's a few ways to get cured but I chose the most epic option which was to plead to the sphinx, navigate the dungeon beneath it, and seek cleansing from the Soulpeace statue at the end. With Geoff's help Bridgette made it all the way and she's in perfect health again. I didn't realize this until the very end, but it's like some crazy fanfiction come true. Being cursed by a mummy and then searching for a special statue kind of suits the zaniness of the Total Drama series though. Heck, this could have happened in Total Drama World Tour since Egypt was the first place they went to. The "mummy" turned out to just be Ezekiel though. Hilarious!
...That I made a new video! As part of its advertising campaign for The Sims 3 coming to consoles this fall, EA produced commercials where various simmers confess their playing habits. They encourage YouTube users to submit their own video confessions. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but because of this rainy day I finally got around to getting it done. Without further ado here is my submission, hope this gets featured on their confessions playlist!
So I got my hands on the latest Sims 3 stuff pack, The Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff. Here are some examples of my sims' rides! You can probably tell that I love using create-a-style. It almost feels like I'm playing Need for Speed Underground when I use it with cars! LOL

Overall, I'm happy I bought this stuff pack. Though there are lots of sim cars to download from the Internet, they're all based on real-life brand vehicles which kills the Simlish culture of the game a bit. Now I have more than enough of a selection. I was surprised to see they went the extra mile to include another motorcycle and scooter! Sims can also have friendships with their vehicle which doesn't really do anything except that you get to name your vehicle once the friendship is good enough. Sims with the new vehicle enthusiast trait can name vehicles instantly. There's tons of nice stuff to decorate your garages with, and there's some great new outfits too. I especially love the new formalwear for men and the new high heel shoes for women.
My only gripe is that there's no cute animation when selecting the new trait in create-a-sim as there are with the others. Not a big deal, but it makes the trait look incomplete and I almost thought I had a bug the first time I selected it. If you like cars simmers and need stuff to clutter your sims' garages with, don't hesitate to buy Fast Lane!
A little break from the Australia blogging here...I was playing The Sims and my evil sim invented an octopus wind-up toy. Turns out it doesn't need to be wound up because it moves around by itself! However, what made this discovery amusing was that it was near a stereo so it looked like as if it was dancing to the music! Funny stuff. Here's a video I took of it:

You need the Ambitions expansion pack to do this. Buy the fog emitter under the misc. tab using the buydebug cheat and shift ctrl click on it and there's a place to type in effect names. Type in snowfallinglightday to get some snow! You have to place multiple emitters to get snow all over the lot. It can snow inside however. This does not have any effect on gameplay, it's an effect and nothing more at this point. It can also set up to be triggered through the hidden switches from World Adventures as shown in my video.
Weather just might be in EP3 folks. Seems like we've got confirmation that it's at least coming eventually! Edit: Okay...looks like it's not EP3 then, as it's confirmed to be Late Night (Nightlife with Superstar and a bit of Apartment Life mixed in).
